Inspired by the lyrics from a recent song find, "dance with fires of the sun," captures the breathtaking beauty of Parry’s Beach in Denmark!✨ Their is so much emotion is this one, with each layer on the raw linen adding layers of feeling. Even the sky tells a story; I initially painted a stormy sky hinting at rain, but it didn't quite feel right, so I transformed it into a sunrise—a promise of the warmth of the sun kissing our skin, especially since sunlight seems rare in our travels south.

This piece imitates the textures and gentle ripples, dunes, and beautiful patterns created by the wind. The minimal monochrome design is accented by striking black rocks and beach shrubs, finished with a subtle pearlescent sheen that reveals itself in certain lighting. This piece combines all my favourite techniques. The watered-down acrylics blend together like the watercolours I used to experiment with as a kid. It also features paint drips from my early acrylic work and my signature texture for the sand dunes. For me, this piece is about the feeling of being on the verge of something new.

This is one of my earlier paintings and as a friend noted - hits differently. I’ve been unable to achieve the same quality gradient in one sitting that I achieved here.
When I approached this painting, I wanted to leave some mystery for the viewer to explore on their own. Rest assured, this piece captures the essence of coastal dreams with every brushstroke.
I paint my works with whatever inspires me at the time. I used açai to deepen the blues and recreate the reef and rocks peppered along the coastline.

For all the fellow lunar lovers out there, this one is dedicated to you! The rise and fall, the gradual increase and decrease, and the captivating influence it exerts on us. During my childhood in a countryside town, we were blessed with unspoiled views of the celestial bodies, including the moon, stars, and trees. In a parallel universe, I would have been admiring an electric blood moon above the sandy peach-coloured desert.

I transformed this artwork from a lackluster pink and blue ocean scene into something inspired by Elephant Rocks after my trip to Denmark. As an environmentally conscious person, I repurposed the canvas by painting over a section while still allowing the original texture and colors to show through.

I can't get enough of the red rocks in northern WA and the white ones in the south. I wonder where they meet…I dream of having an aerial view of the entire WA coast to see the transition from above.
My hubby found it strange that I stopped to pick up an old rusty can during a walk. However, they turned out to make the most stunning, contrasting rocks.

I have you covered for those awkward spots above the TV or the long buffet - the infamous Greens Pools in Denmark with it’s William Bay National Park and is famous for its large granite boulders, green turquoise water and white sandy beach.
