love shack
SOLD
This is my take on the small tin shack sitting on top the hill at Williams Bay near Parry Beach in Denmark, where you can go four-wheel driving around the bay. I love imagining who built it and what they used it for, but I also feel a touch of sadness, thinking about how the landscape would have changed, with the beach erosion taking its toll (you can see the nets up in places). I experimented with pencil shavings for texture underneath the brush, and I wish I had used more because it turned out really well. It's the most technical piece in this collection, and I’m enjoying blending the abstract textures with the finer details in my work.
60 × 40 cm
Mixed media (acrylic, filler, sand and pencil shavings) on framed canvas
All my pieces come ready to hang!
